Savonia University of Applied Sciences
Savonia is a multidisciplinary university of applied sciences with campuses in Iisalmi, Kuopio and Varkaus. Savonia’s main tasks are education, research, development and innovation (R&D) and business.
In Savonia, energy engineering education and RDI activities are concentrated at the Varkaus campus, where energy engineers are trained in a Finnish-language education program. In addition, in Varkaus, a higher university of applied sciences degree in English is possible.
The Energy Research Center of Savonia’s Varkaus campus serves companies in a variety of ways, e.g. in R&D activities related to environmentally friendly burning and combustion.
