University of Eastern Finland

The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) operates on the Kuopio and Joensuu campuses. The University of Eastern Finland was founded in 2010 when the universities of Kuopio and Joensuu merged. The university has approximately 15,500 students and employs 2,500 people. Cooperation with research institutes and business life is close. We are a builder of open innovation ecosystems and we promote the creation of businesses, especially in Eastern Finland.

Energy engineering belongs to the profile area of ​​the university’s research and education; environmental change and sustainable use of natural resources. Key R&D themes are e.g. emissions from energy production, battery technology and circular economy.
